Well, after having their pants charmed off by the Monster and the Bug, Stu's brother and sister-in-law are GETTING A PUPPY!

Sadly, not another shiddie, but never mind! They're getting a little boy Cocker spaniel, he's a gold colour, and is 6 weeks old at the moment so a few weeks to go until they bring him home. No name or photos yet, and they're on holiday this week, but hopefully I'll get some loaded for you soon.

Anyway, besides the general excitement of a puppy, I have a question...obviously Peerie and Bramble are all fully jabbed, so I'm assuming that means that they can meet the new arrival before he's had his jabs. Is that right?

When I was getting all louis's injection the vet told me as long as I'm sure that any other dogs are fully up to date with boosters get him mixing as much as possible.
Lovely news Very Happy

Oh that's fab news! Ade loves Cockers and has always wanted one - hmm maybe if he lets me have another shiddie I'll consider it lol!

About the pup meeting the Peerie Monster and Bramble Bug I've no idea as I've read reasons for and against - some say yes it's good for socialisation but others say no because even though your pooches are vaccinated they could still bring something in that the pup wouldn't be protected against. - Sorry that's not very helpful at all is it - why not give your vet a call and see what they suggest?

I was always told if they are up to date with their injections then it was fine. But to be honest I didn't let mine mix with any other dogs just my own. teddy hug

I don't suppose you can be too carefull can you. The only other dog Louis has met is Josh and obviously I knew he was fine. We've got another two weeks now and he's getting bllomin heavy to carry for any distance.

We were really lucky with Simba because the breeder had her vet give him all his injections, but I still kept him away from other dogs until our vet had given him the all clear. Don't think that is much help I am afraid, it's just the way we did things. Smile
