well that settles it then - my original colour scheme was designed with a purpose (to sort of emulate imperial chinese gold silks) but some of you said it looked lime green on your pcs so I will restore the original but hopefully work on adapting the colours to slighlty nicer shades (or send you all an identical laptop to mine )

Oooo have I missed my chance here, I too wouldn't say no to a new fancy laptop, Lesley. Your kindness and generosity is overwhelming you the best forum administrator there is (can I suck up anymore, lol?)
