A Dogs Final Poem
Just think this is a beautiful poem borrowed from another site.
A DOGS FINAL POEM
Don't grieve too long for now i'm free
I'm following the path God set for me
I ran to Him when I heard His call
I wagged my tail and left it all
I could not stay another day
To bark,to love, to romp or play
Games left unplayed must stay that way
I found such peace it made my day
My parting has left you with a void
So fill it with your remembered joy
A friendship shared, your laugh a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too shall miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, you've given so much
Your time, your love and gentle touch
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, he set me free.

Re: A Dogs Final Poem
Do you think this would be a suitable poem to pin at the top of our rainbow bridge section??
Re: A Dogs Final Poem
Brings a tear to the eye.
Even though I've only had my two for only a year, I can't bear the thought of losing one of them.
Don't what I did with my time before I had the dogs.

Found it
RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth it is called the rainbow bridge because of its many colours
Just this side of the rainbow bridge is a land of meadows, hills and valleys all of it covered in lush green grass
When a beloved pet dies the pet goes to this lovely land
There is always food and water and warm spring weather
Those maimed are made whole again
They play all day with each other, content and comfortable
There is only one thing missing
They are not with the special person who loved them on earth
So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up
Then the nose twitches! the ears are up! the eyes starring you have been seen, and that one suddenly runs free from the group
You take them in your arms and embrace, your face is kissed again and again and you look once again in to the eyes of your trusting pet
Then together you cross the Rainbow Bridge never again to be seperated.
You choose Lesley which you think is the most suitable to be on our Rainbow Bridge

Re: A Dogs Final Poem
I bought a photo frame with Memories across it and have put Lulu and Cassie's photos in there. Lulu is buried in the garden as that is where she loved to be.
Cassie didn't like being outside for long so I had her cremated and she is upstairs.
I talk to them both (or rather their pictures) and hope they don't mind that I have another little one now.
Stupid aren't we but they are rather special
