standing up
i have had lucy for 4 days now, she is 10 weeks old, i just wondered if any of you have come across this. she won't sleep in her crate at all and uses it as a toilet, but she poos standing up. she goes into the crate bounces up at the sides and then when she has found the right spot she stands up leaning against the side and poos. i have never seen anything like it, edwina and daisy

Re: standing up
Yes my Sasha did this for about 3 months....she would cry and jump up the walls then standing on her back legs and leaning against the wall she would poo
Its very funny to watch but she soon grew out of it.

Re: standing up
My smiffy used to do the same to Poo...still does it every so oftern.
Hmm just wondering if the breeder used to use the crate as a place for the pups to poo and she is doing what she knows.? Or it may-be she is still just getting used to her new surrounding.
Phoebe never liked a crate as she wasn't used to one but all my other love a crate, somewhere to feel safe .
I am sure she will get there in the end..

Re: standing up
It is quite common for shih tzu to do this or at least jump up and bounce up a wall or fence

Re: standing up
Harvey did it too! Thankfully he doesn`t do it in his crate now, but when I let him out in the garden, I always know when he`s going to poo cos he dances around and insists he poo`s on the flower beds or trys to hide and do one behind a bush It`s his victory run around the garden after every poo that has me in stitches!
