New home for two male shih tzus
Hi all,
Sorry to be joining and immediately posting this but.....
It is with regret that myself and my partner have decided we want to try and rehome our two five year old male shih tzus.
We both work full time now, have two young children and over the last year have found very little time at all for the "boys", hardly any walks, playing, etc and it is not fair on them.
They are from the same litter and are really close (we would not consider spliting), both have been neutured, KC registered, are good with kids, house trained, etc.
They are quite shy around other dogs, as they do not have much interation with dogs at all. The only time they have had any extended interaction with other dogs was when we stayed at a family members who has another male shih tzu, took a few hours for them to interact but after that there was some tentative play and no incidents.
One of them does have a habit of chewing any interesting toys left lying around but not furniture or anything like that.
We are in no rush to rehome so no need for rescue centres or anything, and would like to meet any potential new owners to make sure both sides are happy.
I will try and put some pictures up, will need to work out how to do it.
We are based in the mid bedforshire countryside, around 30 minutes from Cambridge, Stevenage, Luton and Bedford. 45 minutes from London.
They are great dogs, really loving and it is horrible and upsetting to be doing this but we just feel they deserve better.

Re: New home for two male shih tzus
They are gorgeous Steve - glad you could post them now. I don't know if you would be prepared to take them to a new home but Elaine in HUll lost her rescue shih tzu just before christmas when she was about to take on another little one. She was knocked for six as you can imagine but she has let me into a little secret that she is ready to rehome again. She likes the lookof your boys but she does not drive and lives in HUll. Its ok if its not possible but I thought I would just mention her
Re: New home for two male shih tzus

Re: New home for two male shih tzus
That sounds like it could be a good solution all round. I know what a wrench it must be, I am sure they will settle quickly because they will be together. It will take a time for you to get used to not having them. I am sure Elaine will keep in touch as to how they are getting on.
Re: New home for two male shih tzus
