Re: hello new here
Hi Gemma and welcome to Whispers. We are a really friendly bunch of shih tzu addicts, so you will find plenty of help and advice here. If there is anything at all you want to know about the breed, just ask away and someone will soon be along to help.
Really glad you are taking your time looking for a puppy, when you see the right one you will know, they will just be a look or something about them and you will know they are the right one for you. Very often the pup will actually choose you, which gives you a lovely feeling inside. I don't know how old your children are, but shih tzu love children and I warn you now, you won't have a minutes peace and quiet once the pup settles in, but it will be soooooo much fun watching their antics together.

Re: hello new here
You very welcome Gemleigh. As Sujay says we are addicted to Shihtzu's. you are right to look around at different puppies. The awful thing is that most people think that if you go to see their litter of pups you are going to buy one and when you walk away to either have a think or look at other litters they think you are a timewaster. So how on earth is anyone going to make an informed opinion of the one that is right for you. The best thing to do is when you go to see a litter be straight with the people at the outset you are looking at several pups before you make your mind up. If you don't feel happy with them do just walk away. If they are genuine they will appreciate you taking your time. I would always advise anyone to check out the Kennel Club register for puppies in your area. And the KC breeders register and speak to anyone who might have a litter due.
