my shihtzu Bonnie passed away yesterday at 4.20pm ( I noticed her cry out every so often so i sat with her cuddling her, then saw her tummy like contracting.....rang vets and told to get her there ASAP.....they scanned her said she needed an op as her bladder was full and they could see it had leaked into her system........half an hour later they asked me to let her go ( upon opening her up they found a tumour on her bladder and also on her breast...to far gone...she was or appeared to be absolutley fine untill yesterday lunch time....truly heartbroken but i had no choice but to let her go....R.I.P MY loyal faithful friend i will miss you so sosoooooooooo much xxxxxxxxxx

I am heartbroken for you Elaine. that is so very sad. Even more so you had no warning.

Poor little Bonnie and poor you as well Elaine. You must be feeling totally lost at the minute, especially as everything happened so quickly. Just be thankful that Bonnie isn't going to suffer. It may not feel like it at the minute, but you did the right thing in letting her go. I am sure the vet did everything they could have done for her, just remember the good times you had with Bonnie.

OMG Elaine how awful for you. It is terrible losing them at all but when it is sudden and unexpected like that it is a dreadful shock to your system and my heart goes out to you. I don't know what to say....
A similar thing happened to my sisters GSD cross a few years ago and we were all devastated but as Sue has said you and the vet did everything and she has not really suffered because you got her to the vet so fast... not every little dog in this world is that lucky.
Its not going to be easy and you will never forget her but I always say that I would rather go through the agony of losing one than never having known their love! One day in the future you will find yourself thnking about Bonnie and smiling and at that point you will start to feel a little better. She will always be with you - she has left her pawprints in your heart forever. Sending you as much love as I can xxxxxx

Re: night night Bonnie xxxxxxxx
So sorry it must be so gutting my mother in law lost her dog of 17 years and she said it was like a piece of her heart just died it changed her from the normal dog routine like simple thing havin a cuppa outside while Sally the dog went out to the loo to nothing. They r such important part of your family and without any warning they r gone. Would never expect u to ever feel ok about it.
We help my mother in law make a scrap book of all photos an of dog bit which helped her ? Sending much love !

sending you hugs n xxx Jackson our shih tzu died a few months ago, very sudden, no signs of bbeing ill, so I know what you are going through. I still keep thinking I can hear him barking, . I tell my self that at least we loved him and took good care of him as you have done with Bonnie, something that not all dogs have! You will always miss her because you loved her so much, dont beat yourself up remember the good times no one can take them away from you. take care love sue x
