Rrrr that's cute to read and well done u for trying to put a postive spin on it all reading the posts I can see y its taking so long to re home him it's all a bit neg in my opinion and leaves me thinking what is he good at.
As for hurtful memories and trama I believe with the rigt postive training and not treating them like a victim u can over come things. Look how far I have come with mags she now is happy apart from normal shih tzu grumpiness and biggest fears o vets and grooming we have managed to control even and it is constant training of trust and it's hard for ppl to see then end of it. He is such a lovely pup e is a strange colour I know he is a shih tzu but had to look twice lol

Believe it or not I was told NOT to post in his thread when he was staying with a certain person... I was accused of STALKING HER when I actually belonged to their forum long before she had even appeared on the scene, I am friends with the two people who run Friends of the Animals AND my own friends are the people who picked Alby up!! Sadly I was away at the time or he may never have got to them. i was asked (after being let down when I thought I was going to be fostering him) if I woudl foster him if they brought him back but I was told he was aggressive to other dogs and when I said I would have to test the water then with my two I was told they could not bring him back unless I was going to be 100% committed!! I am not a happy bunny!!!!
And now it would appear that I don't really know my breed as well as the behaviourist who has him now!!!
I am glad you have found the write ups as negative as I have.... I doubt if they will ever find a home at this rate... poor boy and I feel so responsible and sorry as I suggested to my friends they take him to that rescue (because my two friends who rubn it are fabulous!!)

Hmmmm as a outsider it would seem they r not promoting the breed or him I pick up on the tension in the posts they r very much playing him off as a victim but sounds to me the owners want him for them selfs and not really want to re home him it's a shame because with trust and training he is so young I am sure he would be ok and frankly feel that your post were only being postive and trying to explain to the outsider of the breed what shih tzu r capable of and yessss they can walk long distances even mags can with two bent legs lol
I would be premoting him on this forum to because as we know there r ppl that r looking for shih tzus.
I would have re homed him if I did not have two dogs because I guess I would not be allowed him :-(

I am so pleased for you Carol and Elaine too. I did hover a bit because being the owner of this site I had access to Elaine's email but didn't want to seem rude but in the end I am glad I emailed her to let her know you had left a message for her on here. this is a great sol;ution for you both and the good thing is you will be able to keep in touch and that makes it a bit easier.

I am so pleased for both of you and Lulu too xxxx

and all that stems from someone who is not that familiar with dogs making silly mistakes when fostering...and now he seems doomed to a life without canine companions Sad

I think I've said before I feel the rules for fostering are often way too harsh and what one so called 'expert' thinks is the ideal home for a rescue dog isn't necessarily the case. Surely one of the most important things is to find a new owner that will love and care for the dog and as long as they are aware of any issues and are experienced with the breed then it's only fair to give them the opportunity to provide a loving home.

I am so glad that you managed to find Elaine through the forum Carol. I know it must be a really hard thing for you to have to do, but the fact you are feeling so upset shows how much you love and care about Lulu. Hopefully you will be able to keep in contact with each other and follow Lulu's progress. It will take a while for her to settle with Elaine, but I am sure she will be fine in the long run. teddy hug to you.
