melissa jane barlow 244221 melissa jane barlow 132239 Hello.

Sadly this month we had to say farewell for now to our darling sweet melissa jane,

she had been with me since she was a 6week old puppy, I finger fed her and nursed her till she was able to feed herself,

melissa grew into the most loving sweet natured faithfull best friend and was like a daughter to me, we went everywhere together,

It was the hardest decission I have ever had to make but the vet said her lungs were infected so was her little heart.

We had the most amazing 15.5yrs together, and I would never change a day,

I did sit the night before nursing her on my body, ( her fav place to lay on me ) and we had a talk, I told her how happy she had made me and that if it was not for her love I would not have been here to watch my grandaughters grow,

I held her while she went asleep and told her to wait for me at the other side of rainbow bridge, as we will be together again, and this time forever,

I took her and had her privately cremated, and chose a gorgeous mahogany casket. and untill its my time she is next to my armchair,

I just want to to tell everyone just how lucky i was to have melissa in my life,

I love you sweetheart, and miss you soooooo much, my heart is breaking,

my parent have supprised me with a shih tzu boy who is so sweet but its not my beautiful girl,

you sleep tight my darling me and daddy send our love and will be with you again,

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

all my love forever,

mummy

You will always have a massive hole in your heart from losing Melissa, but I am sure that in time Fudge will help to heal the loss you feel. You will never forget her, but in time, each day will get easier, though there will be days when you will miss her more. I totally understand your feelings and I think Melissa was a very lucky little girl to live with such a lovely person who obviously loved her to bits. teddy hug

you have me in tears here - it doesn''t matter how long you have had them or how many you have had they all hurt but they do leave their pawprints in your heart so are never far away and one day in the future you will be able to think of Melissa Jane with a smile on your face when you remember all the happy times... and that is when the healing begins. you can't force it but it will happen and now I am going to your other thread to talk to you about your new boy who I think you must give a chance to (Melissa Jane would not want you to go through life without the love of a shih tzu and she would want you to share the love you have for her with little Fudge) teddy hug

it upset me as well when i read this,it just shows how much these dogs really mean to us and how they get into our hearts,i hope it gets easier for you, at least you have all your wonderful memories from 15 1/2 years together.

I feel for you and am in tears here myself as my loss is still fairly recent. Nothing helps much but crying helps for a little while...and giving love to another furbaby. No, it's not the same baby, but it is a furbaby and needs your love.

When I lost Pansy I received this on a card:

"We live within a fragile circle....

We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragil circle, easily and often breached.

Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.

We cherish memory as the only certain immortailty, never fully understanding the necessary plan."

For some reason this helped me when I was grieving and I hope it will do so for you. I personally believe in immortality though, and in the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm sorry I just read your other post. I hope I didn't make you feel bad regarding Fudge. I'm sure you'll give it your best and do what's best.

I'm sure Melissa knew she was loved.
