getting a puppy may 2012

hi there! my name is Helen and Im a mummy to 2 gorgeous babies and 2 gorgeous cats and (in may next year) im hoping to get a gorgeous shih tzu for add to my gorgeous family!

im currently going through treatment for cancer and my treatment is due to finish in May (and its also my birthday in May) so the timing (all being well with the all clear!) would be perfect! im doing a lot of reading and have been to see one litter with parents to get a feel for the breed.

Hello Helen and welcome from me, you could not have a better gift than a little fur-baby. I am not far from you - currently Beds but I lived in Milton Keynes for many years. I love cats too so does my hubby and we are awaiting the patter of tiny paws early next year!!

You are very welcome to Whispers Helen. It will be nice for you to have a goal to look forward to the end of your treatment. May is also a very good time to have a puppy as the weather should be a lot better then for house training and walks etc. I had my first Shih Tzu Mali in July and was housetrained in a matter of 6 weeks but had my second one Tasha in January when she was 15 weeks old and she has taken forever it seems, she is three now and Mali will be five next May. It probably doesn't have an awful lot to do with when you get a puppy more on the puppy it self, and Shih Tzu's can be difficult it is just easier in the summer months.If you want any questions answered just ask away we are here to help and someone will have the answer.

I have a bit of a weakness for bows and I already have three packs in various styles already - I am so sad.
Poor puppy had better be a girl (if he is a boy I will just have to keep his coat longer so no-one can tell)
