Re: Hi to you all
Hi ...and welcome to shih tzu whispers. Sorry I cant help with finding the breeder but if she has had one injection then she should only need her follow up but without that record card a vet may wish to start her all over again ( not something I would be happy about personally ). They are usually done approximately a fortnight apart. You dont say why you dont know her breeder and where you have just got her from.To help I think we need more info. Do you know the name of the vet she was under before you purchased her if you do thats a good start as they will have a record of vacccination so far. I am puzzled though as to why you can't trace the breeder, who was looking after this puppy before you got her ?. Someone on here may be able to help further. Her KC registration papers may just give us some more clues.

Hi there, I am quite new too, only had my little Panda for about 7 weeks and she was unwanted by her first owner. She was 4 months when I got her. Would love to see some photos of Indy if you can?

Re: Hi to you all
Hi and welcome from me and my two girls Mali & Tasha. I am Carol also. Did you travel far to get her, can you not go and see her. The breeders name will be on the Kennel club Registration when you get it. Weren't you given a puppy pack with a record card from the Vet, also a record of her worming and flea treatment, food etc? It sounds a bit bizzare if you didn't at the very least. Is she micro chipped because you could ask your Vet to scan her and that will have all her details on the chip.
Re: Hi to you all
hi ladies and cute puppys , i got my puppy from some one other than the breeder, aparently this person was given the pup to sell for the breeder, i asked all the right questions when seeing my puppy ,
i.e ... where was the puppys mam / dad
about her medical records
papers ( even double checked them)
im glad indi is living with me now as i do not mind repaying all injections at least ill know my baby will be fully covers against all germs ,
i have no vet card , dont even know the vet she was under so no chance of tracking her records down. i feel so sorry for indi , she needs to be full shaved just to sort her fur out , i was thinking of doing it my self but thought against the idea , i need to find a mobile dog groomer so i am able to get the to come to me so i can get her sorted out rather than waiting a month to be able to get groomed ,
ill update my profile with a pic of indi as soon as i get broadband on as i am useing a mobile broad band thing and only get speeds of 20bps -56 kbps slow i know .
if you need more infomation please let me know and i will try and do the bast i can ...
ps ill get kc papers tomorrow
regards carol and indi

Re: Hi to you all
Hi carol and welcome to whispers. First of all congratulations on getting indi. I can't wait to see some photos of her.
I suggest the first thing you do is arrange an appointment with your vet as soon as possible and get indi checked out. The vet will then explain about vaccinations, micro-chipping and any flea or worm control that needs to be done. Explain everything to the vet as you have done to us, and they will advise you as to what is the best thing to do regarding the injections. They may well want to start again from scratch, as you have no records of what she has had in the past, but they know what diseases are prevalent in your area, so they are the best ones to take advice from.
As for the condition of her coat, don't panic. Take things gently and with a bit of luck you should be able to get her sorted. What is the problem with it exactly. Is it just that she has not been brushed or is it something else? Again, if you can let us see some photos we will be able to help. There are a lot of people on here who have had problems with coats and usually through time and effort on the owners part there is a solution to all problems.
What is indi being fed on at the minute, and how is she in herself? It will take her a couple of days to settle down and get used to her new home, and routine, but again time will work wonders for you both.
Once you get the papers tomorrow, you will be able to find out the details of the breeder and go from there. You should have all the breeders details and be able to contact them.
If there are any other problems just ask and someone will be able to give you the reassurance and help you need.

Re: Hi to you all
the problem with her coat is that she has never been groomed ( cliped yes but never a peopper brushing or any treatment used on her ) ie leave in conditioner, detangle stuff to help with combing her coat when wet .
i spoke with a nice ladie who is a mobile groomer and she is coming out on the 22nd of this month to check her ova and trim her nails , ears and and let me know what is best for her hair , she says indi probly will have to goto the grooming parlor to get a full hair cut and start from scratch, so my poor baby will have little to no hair for a little while hopefully she will look lush and like a brand new puppy once her hair has come back threw and from then she will have no more hair problems .
as for indi settleing in she sleeps in mine and hubbys bed and bites hubbys hand every time he trys to cuddle me and when he gets out of bed in the middle of the night to use the bath room then trys to get back into bed indi bites him . i laugh my back off at her as she wont let hubby back in bed and if he dose get into bed she works the hell out of him ...
oh ! 1 question , how do i stop indi pooping in the house ? weeing she dose excellent but pooping its alway in the house next to the front door ,
as for what foor she is on , she is on pedigree puppy dry food , but going to the vets tomorrow to pick up a more naturall food .
regards carol and indi

Re: Hi to you all
Pooping - you have to start her from scratch as if she was a new puppy - she may not know where to do her toilet, or maybe she has never pooped outside. She is only a baby anyway... popping is easier to train than weeing as they usually do a little twirl or look for somewhere to go beforehand and then you can scoop them up and get them outside quickly. Use your toilet command as they go and make a big fuss if she gets it right. There are toilet training hints and clicker training lessons in another part of the forum which you may find useful.
You will know who the breeder is once you get the KC papers - though I have to say the whole thing sounds rather suspicious! In the light of NO vet card your vet will probably start the vaccinations again. There is a time limit anyway between the first and second and if that time span has past they have to be started again anyway. You will at least know she is fully protected that way.
Any more help you need just shout - have loads of experience here!! Can't wait to see a photo of her xxxx

Not sure you will get a more natural food from the vet!!!!! Please do NOT buy Hills Science plan if that is what they are selling!!
If you want a really natural food you could try feeding her Natures Menu frozen Banquet nuggets - can get them from Pets at Home!
Re: Hi to you all
Please dont let her into your bed carol .....if she is laying down the rules now at four months old and biting when your husband tries to get back into bed imagine what she will be capable of at eight months and older ,and in human terms she wil be stroppy teenager at eight months. Its not fair to spoil the dog at this young age and wonder what went wrong when she starts acting aggressive/possessive later on down the road. There are a lot of other ways to show how much you enjoy her ....I dont believe letting her get her way in a human bed is one of them. Just an opinion and not meant to offend. We all want you to give the best home to this little dog..it sounds like she deserves one.

Re: Hi to you all
I think it is a personal choice as to whether we allow our dogs to sleep with us - although I will agree that you need to make sure that the dog is not being dominant/aggressive!
Re: Hi to you all
dominant/aggressive! she is neither one of these, last night was a better night, she just licked when we got in and out of bed , i think the first night she was just excited , trust me she does have a place where i wish for to sleep ( a doggy play pen ) not a cage as i dont like useing dog cages , but the first night i put her in the pen and all she did was bark , i have a next door neighbour who has a disable son so i do not wish for indi to be causeing a problem at a 11 pm at night when she is ment to be settleing down to got ot sleep , so thats why she is in our bed , ( she made me laugh last night) , she lay in bed with her head on hubbys pillow both hubby and indi had there backs to each other and half her body was under the blanket , i thought to myself iv seen it all now , but once she found a place to sleep down inbetween mine and hubbys feet she stayed there all night . so alot better last night. and i do not mind her sleeping on our bed as long as it makes her feel safe and not that she is been left ,
kind regards carol and indi

Re: Hi to you all
I did not wish to interfere on the subject of where she slept carol-indi it was you who mentioned that she was biting your husband when he attempted to get back into the bed. My only desire was to stop a potential problem rearing its head . So many dogs are handed in to rescue centres for just this one action ...biting....when it is allowed to go unchecked. Any way I wish you luck with her and hope I have not offended you
