HAS ANYONE TRIED THE WATER BOTTLES
Just wondering if anyone has purchased or tried the dog water bottles and what do they think of them,
personally i think they are much better for them , i find that they do not stain their face as much as drinking from water dishes , and you dont dirt and bits in it like you do with drinking bowls, plus all 3 of mine picked the way up on how to drink out of it within a few hours, and you can just pick it up and take it on walks with you they are really good,

Re: HAS ANYONE TRIED THE WATER BOTTLES
I recently tried the Bunny drinkers without success.I thought it would be better when we were out in the car rather than taking a bowl and bottle of water. Mali just didn't want to know, and Tasha did try but wasn't keen.
Do you mean the kind that looks like a Bunny drinker but has a drop down channel that they drink out of? if so I might just try one of those. Do you use it in the house also, because Tasha's face does get very discoloured.

I ordered one from America with a stand for the bottle, Wispa was ok with it until the plastic catch holding the bottle on the stand broke one day when she was drinking and frightened her, I got someone to make me a new part, but she wouldnt go near it and Poppy never seemed to get enough to drink from it so have gone back to a water bowl x

ya i think they come in two colours pink and blue, my girls are great with it , and the amount they drink and how they drink from i think its very sturdy ,
I got my from canada with the postage it cost approx 20pound. but its well worth the price,

Re: HAS ANYONE TRIED THE WATER BOTTLES
Carol I use the Road Refresher bowl for in the house and it is great for on the move too and it certainly keeps the staining and wet face to a minimum. It wors by using a floating plate inside the bowl so that only enough water to lap appears above it and this refills as long as they keep lapping. It, in my opinion, is better for them than a bottle as they can drink normally. I know that if i had been for a long walk on a hot day and I had to sip my water through a straw i would not be happy - and I think that water bottles are the same principal!
Water bottles shouldn't be used as the only source of water - as Michele says some dogs cannot get enough to drink from them!
road refresher
on sale at argos too
BTW I bought Jasmine a smaller one for her cage (which she sadly never got to use) but it would have been absolutely useless for her - yes her whiskers would have been drier, but she had discovered that if she stood in Josh's road refresher with both feet on the plate it SANK to the bottom and ALL the water came up... so dry whiskers - sopping wet legs and belly!! what a character my baby was!!

Thanks Lesley for that I remeber seeing the pitch on Dragons Den and I am sure it wasn't well received by the Dragons they don't get it right everytime (Dragon's that is ) I am off to get one of those tomorrow.

No they don't Carol - I think the creator is a very rich lady now
Re: HAS ANYONE TRIED THE WATER BOTTLES
Mmm I bought one of those hoping they wouldnt get such wet faces but Wispa would have nothing to do with it she just barked at it until I put her usual bowl down She is very particular about what she will eat and drink out of.

Rusty is also very particular about what she drinks out of - which I always thought very strange! For some reason she won't drink out of silver bowls!

Re: HAS ANYONE TRIED THE WATER BOTTLES
Something tells me these dogs rule their owners
Josh didn't likeit at first but when they are thirsty they WILL drink from anything!!
You need to get the large size one though as shih tzu don't like to put their faces into dark holes and the little one is possibly too narrow (having said that Josh will drink from that size too )
