Simple face/baby wipes !!!!!! for ears ??
Oscar has been given some stuff from the vets to clean out his wax (clean aural) which is working when i can catch him. they said to use cotton wool to clean away any wax but its really messy is it ok to use Simple face/baby wipes for this area i find the ear wipes seem quite dry so are not doing the job.

Re: Simple face/baby wipes !!!!!! for ears ??
I don't quite know what to answer to that Sandra because if it were me I don't think I would be putting anything else in his ears because although the simple ones are "gentle" the ingredients still might affect his delicate ear flaps and you don't know how they would react with the ear cleaner. I usually use cotton wool (which you can moisten a little - though you don't want the ear to get wet/water in it as that in itself can cause wax.
I would use large wadges (sp?) of cotton wool and be careful not to push into the ear canal - you should just be wiping the excess from the ear flap really. I know it is a bit messy but it should get better fairly quickly.

Will stick with the cotton wool , they said to keep his ears dry , it is working there is so much wax, he knows the bottle now and does a runner, its really funny, when i tell him to come he brings me a toy maybe he thinks he can bribe me.
Thanks

I love it when they do things like that Sandra Now Josh wouldn't bother to try and bribe me - he runs and gets in his cage and won't come out so I have to be a bit nifty and before I even THINK about doing something I have to sneak and close its door

How about using cotton wool pads instead of ordinary cotton wool? They are a bit firmer and don't fall to pieces when they get damp or mucky, and it might be easier for you. Hope Oscar is feeling better now.

I have the same problem with Rooney. I use clean aural and damp cotton pads to clean the mess up. They are under control now.

Wondering if the wax will ever stop he is still shaking and rubbing his ears loads and its sticking so bad, although its not smelly. Oscar still doing a runner but Holly stands waiting for her turn.

Once they are under control, just need to add cleaner once a week. I use some ear wipes couple of times a week to keep them clean.
