In Loving Memory of Little Smithy
In Loving Memory of Little Smithy
It is with great sadness that I post this on behalf of our dear friend Debb.
Her precious baby boy Smithy is now running free at Rainbow Bridge.
He was only a very little boy but had already left pawprints on his Mummy's heart.
Sleep tight little angel.
xxx
I'M STILL HERE
I stood beside your bed last night
I came to have a peek
I could see that you were crying
You found it hard to sleep
I whined to you softly
As you brushed away a tear
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast
I watched you pour the tea
You were thinking of the many times
Your hands reached down to me
I was with you at the shops today
Your arms were getting sore
I longed to take your parcels
I wish I could do more
I was with you at my grave today
You tend it with such care
I want to reassure you
That I'm not lying there
I walked with you toward the house
As you fumbled for your key
I gently put my paw on you
I smiled and said "It's me."
You looked so very tired
And sank into a chair
I tried so hard to let you know
That I was standing there
It's possible for me to be
So near you everyday
To say to you with certainty
"I never went away."
You sat there very quietly
Then you smiled, I think you knew
In the stillness of that evening
I was very close to you.
The day is over...
I smile and watch you yawning
And say "Good night, God bless,
I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right
For you to cross the brief divide
I'll rush across to greet you
And we'll stand side by side
I have so many things to show you
There is so much for you to see
Be patient, live your journey out
And then come home to be with me
-Author Unknown-
Although with us all too briefly Smithy touched so many hearts, including mine.
Thinking of you Debb.

Oh no, how sad...
Run free little Smithy, we won't forget you. And big hugs to Debb and her family in this horrible time.

Re: In Loving Memory of Little Smithy
My deepest most heartfelt sympathy is with you at this time and I hope that the love of your other furbabies and the love and memories of little Smithy help you through.... I think he made pawprints in all our hearts.
As hard and as painful as it is.... something I always say is that it is better to have loved and lost this little man than never to have known the love for him or the love you had from him.
Lots of love and may you find peace xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm so sorry to hear of such sad news. Smithy was very much loved, and although you'll never forget him, I hope your sadness will ease and you will be left with happy memories of your time together.

Re: In Loving Memory of Little Smithy
I feel so sorry for you. I went through a similar experience with an 18 week old border collie, over 7 years ago, and although you will never forget Smithy, it does get a little easier as the days past. I am thinking of you, and hope that you start to feel a bit better soon. I am sure you did everything you could have done for Smithy, so rest assured you gave him the best you could have done.
