Organic Chicken & Cheddar Doggie Treats Recipe
My two love these...
Recipe:
200g Cooked Org. Chicken
400g Org. Wholemeal Flour
100g Org. Cheddar Cheese
200ml Chicken Stock (I make my own...cubes contain a lot of salt)
60ml Veg Oil
1 Egg
(Butter to grease baking sheet)
Method:
1. Shred the cooked chicken
2. Combine all ingredients
3. Mix well
4. Roll out, cut out using a cookie cutter and place on a greased baking sheet
5. Cook at gas mark 6 for about 15 minutes.
NB. You don't have to use all the mixture in one go, I separate the mixture in to 3 or 4 parts use one and freeze the rest for up to 2 months.

Ooh, that sounds good Debbie - how long can you keep the treats for once they're cooked?

Hmmm... well, I've never had any last long enough to go off lol, so not too sure. Mine finish them off within a couple of days as I only tend to make small batches and freeze the rest of the mixture.

Ok, thanks - might give it a try when I'm off on Friday.

Oh - quick question - by cooked chicken do you mean like sliced stuff we'd put in sandwiches, or like a lump of cooked chicken breast? (if you get what I mean...?)

Lol Josie!
Nys, I just use whats left of our roast on a Sunday...but you could buy it ready cooked just watch out for added salt etc.

No, roast left overs is perfect - Peerie normally gets that, this can just be a new twist!

I don't mind cooking for my dogs, they are the only members of the family who appreciate my culinary skills lol!
