Post by Bensmam Tue May 25, 2010 8:57 am

Hello everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome! This is just the start here for me - I have to find my way around - not very IT literate! I will have to take some lessons with Lesley, me thinks!
As Lesley said, I am a volunteer with FOA and I have had the pleasure of fostering and nurturing so many little Shiddies but my very favourite was the sweet little one that was to find her Forever Home with Lesley - our sweet Jasmine! I am still very sad that her life was taken when she was still a wee baby and I know that she is missed every single day by those who knew and love her. Lesley played a HUGE role in her short life and its nice that we can take comfort from the fact that in her last weeks she was surrounded by an abundance of love and so much fun. She was quite a litle character!
Anyways I must dash off to work now - unfortunately! Grrrrr! But I will certainly catch up soon!
BFN Jan xx

Aw its only the truth, love! hugs
As for the Lhasa pup..... they are very similar to Shih Tzu pups. They are fun, social little dogs that love to play but also love a lap to curl up on! They have extra acute hearing - again like Shiddies - and can be quite vocal! They are a firm favourite with Hearing Dogs for the Deaf because of this.
They like to talk to you in growls and moans in typical Lhasa language - which you must learn to respond to 'cos it won't go away! They are very keen and eager to please and are very fast learners. They can have overshot or undershot jaws but it normally doesn't present any problems.
Lhasas are fab little characters with plenty of personality but don't be fooled by their fluffy cute exterior as they are all dog!!
I love both the Lhasa Apsos and Shih Tzus and prefer to foster a houseful of these than one Terrier! groan

Yes Tracy I have seen the video. Lesley sent me the link and I must admit at first I was quite worried for her. Then it became apparent that she was teasing your boys and loving the chase! Little Madam!
I also forgot to mention that Lhasas and Shih Tzus share the same affection addiction! They adore a fuss and will reward you tenfold with lots of doggie snogs!

A big Welsh welcome from me and my two rascals Mali & Tasha. Yes Tasha loves to moan too especially these light mornings when she thinks I should be up to give them their biscuit. I think it is good that she is noisy 'cos if anything is wrong she will soon let us know.

Oscar doesn't moan for us to get up! Far from it, lazy little things moans when we make him get up in the mornings. Lubey is at my feet from the moment I get up. There have been days I've gone looking for Oscar mid morning and he's still flat out in his bed upstairs!

Hmm that sounds like his cousin Opal (bless her) - one day I left her to get up in her own time, however at 2pm I decided that enough was enough and she was going to do untold damage to her kidneys if she did not get up and empty her bladder lol!

Rusty likes to get into bed with us and then get us up ... then once she has dragged us out of bed she will find a lap and go back to sleep! I sometimes wish I was a shih tzu!

They'd been together a couple of hours before then. Lesley and I had already sussed who had the upper hand and it certainly wasn't any of the boys! lol!

Bless her teddy hug
